GoPro... Help a dummy
GoPro... Help a dummy
Wife bought me a GoPro Hero 3 for Christmas. I know NOTHING about using the thing (yes I've read instructions). My questions are: is it possible to mount this thing to a gun or bow? If so for you guys that use them do u mount to gun/bow or do you just use a tripod or mount on stand/blind? Or would it be better to buy the head strap mount? Also what class SD card do y'all use? As you can tell the questions could go on and on so any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a great gift, this redneck just needs a little help with it, thanks

Re: GoPro... Help a dummy
They make a specific mount just for guns. I have a friend who had one on some sort assault rifle and made a video. Not sure what brand but his video was pretty legit.

The head mount is the way to go
Putting it on gun or bow really doesn't capture the entire experience
A must have is the iPhone app or android app
You can control everything from your smartphone and see what the camera is seeing
With the head mount you basically video the perspective of your view

Thanks Lipsplitter. I will check all that out. I'm assuming the head mount has plenty of adjustment to fit over a hat? Similar to headlamp? I appreciate all the help, if I can get all this together I'm gonna try it out next week.

What is the little hand held remote looking thing for?
Re: GoPro... Help a dummy
I have one that i use for fly fishing and snow skiing, use a Class 10 32Gb or larger micro sd card. They dont like cold weather so i would suggest getting 2 batteries. have the camera on standby uses just as much battery as running the thing. if it is really cold out, they sell anti fog inserts. look into getting the tripod mount with a gorilla pod then you can control it with the remote control.billyho wrote:Wife bought me a GoPro Hero 3 for Christmas.
