I think that the mfer that hit the dude with the boat paddle is no better than a ninja. I wish I could count the times I have been called mfer it's only words guys not the end of the world.

I've enjoyed reading this post as much as any. Here's my perspective as a hunter and law enforcement officer for 24+ years. Over the years I've worked as a doorman ('91-'93) at a country bar in Hattiesburg, known as Cowboys, where the Silver Saddle was on West Pine Street and have dealt with drunks and loudmouths. Treat everyone with all the respect you can but there comes a time when a loud mouth billy badazz needs an attitude adjustment, which is what sounds like happened here. He knew they were there and instead of moving on, or politely asking if they knew of another location his crew could move on to, he tried to bully his way into a fray and for once someone had the courage to step up and stop his bullying. I wasn't there, like so many shootings and such, so I defer to the ones who were there, and actually witnessed it, not assumed what happened and who said what.

You could all sit back and tell me how I could have called the police when we were at the bar, but of course I was a Law Enforcement Officer and when someone needed an attitude adjustment it was swift and severe, and they were walked out or dragged out, conscious and unconscious, and asked not to come back, or left to wake up and figure it out for themselves. You pays you money and you takes yo chances. And until you have stood up against a group of drunks that you had to talk out of the bar or fight and win, don't start your Monday morning quarterbacking with me.

It sounds like his buddies also knew it was wrong or they would have stepped up and put up some resistance, but instead they walked off and went along their way. He could file charges but duck hunters like that need to take their waders and put them underneath their wife or girlfriends lingerie drawer and pick out something nice and pink to wear around the house and maybe wear their duck calls with it if that turns your woman on.

Don't assume that it's over, and I would advise if it happens again to keep it to yourself, but I've actually enjoyed reading about it. And don't worry about the naysayers, they would rather bang out some witty reply and beat up the keyboard, than actually stepping up and helping a loud mouth bully see the light via paddle.

I have been out of serious duck hunting for the past 5-6 years, but rode through Delta National this past weekend with my wife and two teenage sons after a youth deer hunt at Yazoo National Wildlife Refuge and got the hankering for it again, if for no other reason than to show my sons some of the old holes we used to frequent. My sons understand how to behave on public land and they also have the courage to step up to bullies if need be.

Thanks for an entertaining thought provoking thread. Now all those who oppose can get to banging out a response. Don't let that pink garter belt stand in the way.
