Lost my hunting property at the last minute.
I already had my truck packed up last night to head to Isola and brush blinds and pump fields when I got the call last night. Here it is only 2 weeks before season and I've lost my lease. The owner I was leasing from entered into an agreement a few days ago to sell the property and the new owners do not want anyone hunting the property while everything is in the works with the transaction. If this doesn't suck then nothing does. I guess I will be sitting at the house a lot more this year.

Have you paid? With all the ways for a deal to go south, why would a potential buyer have ANYTHING to do with what was happening on the property untill they own it? Sounds like BS to me.
Re: Lost my hunting property at the last minute.
it isn't, unfortunately...deal is done. no "potential buyer", they bought it. and no to first question, but some out of pocket for installing pipes.LODI QUACKER wrote:Sounds like BS to me.

Don't get me wrong.....I don't fault the owner I was dealing with......I'm just pouting about the situation. I have dealt with the previous owner the past 3 years and he has always been extremely nice to us. I would never complain about him personally. He was just made an offer on his property a couple weeks ago that was too good to turn down and I don't fault him one bit for taking it. Like I said....just pouting here.

LOL!!!!!! No....not the BDDC. I dropped out and didn't hunt out there last year. Besides, Bigwater would just stroke a check if that ever went up for sale.

Sorry man, it has happened to most of us at some point.

There wouldn't happen to be any last minute spots available for the bddc this year. Im struggling this year and need some bootlip beatdowns in my life.

Re: Lost my hunting property at the last minute.
I was telling my manager about it this morning. He doesn't duck hunt or go over into the delta but right off the bat mentioned something. He said he read an article that stated a private entity was buying large chunks of property, particularly in the Mississippi delta, and are being very secretive about it. It stated they were throwing ridiculous money out there too. The article was published in hopes someone would tell more about who this is because, up until now, they were making the sellers sign confidentiality agreements. It may or may not have anything to do with the property I was leasing being sold but the scenario is the same.JaMak84 wrote:Lotta land been changing hands here in the Delta the last 2 years.
