Champcaller made one. Documented it on here.
Search for it.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

I got a mind for a 10' boat, and building a little light weight gear reduction longtail (4'-5' shaft)

I gotta take my dog so an 8' boat will be tough.

I've built several in the past.

Champ, did you ever hunt out of it ?

I built one of the "NL" models year before last. Which model are you going with?

Just once but it worked great. Still have it and floats just fine.

I built mine heavier for durability. I'd just put it in the back of the truck and drop it where I would put in. Brushes up real nice, too.

Built a 8' one and two people can ride in it. I'm not sure you will get in under 45 lbs though unless you make it out of 1/2" plywood or less. My bottom and sides was 5/8" with ribs glassed in in the floors for rigidity. They are fun to build for sure. Be sure to roll on extra coats of epoxy on the bottom to protect the glass. I glassed the entire outside of mine. It's for sale if you would just rather buy mine.

I am targeting 45lb for the mini mud motor.

I figure my boat will be in the 75- 85 lb range as it will be a 10' boat.

I will have a double boat hauler trailer to move them on.

We poked around our brake with this one. Nice and stable with me standing in the back with a push pole and another guy sitting on a cooler in the front.

Cost me about 250$ total but I needed a few tools as well.

It's fairly cheap considering the price of layout boats.
