Nashville-where to stay

Postby pharville » Tue Oct 15, 2013 5:28 pm

Guys, the wife and I are planning to go to Nashville in a month to do some Christmas shopping and such. We are going to go up on a Friday morning and come back on Sunday. Where should we stay for the two nights? What are some good eats to hit up while we are there?

I would stay at the Hilton if you want to do the Broadway thing at night. Union Station in the Gulch is nice too.

Definitely have lunch at Arnold's. Get there about 1045-1100 to avoid the crowd. Kayne Prime is a really good steakhouse. Husk downtown is great. Peace, Love, and Little Doughnuts is good for a quick breakfast. Pancake Pantry is good but it's still pancakes- it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to wait in line for pancakes.

Capitol Grille for a fancy place with awesome food. Really cool place. One of the best steaks I ever had.

The Stockyard.
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

Eats:
Stockyard - Great steakhouse

Noshville - unbelievable breakfast
Blackstone Brewery- pub food (great wood fired pretzels), good beer
Sportsman's Grille
Loveless Café - southwest of Nashville, about as unique as it gets
Hotels:
Airport area-Marriott, Embassy Suites
Downtown- Doubletree, Union Station, Renaissance, Hermitage
Vandy - Embassy Suites, Lowe's Plaza
Opryland Hotel
