Crickets? Give us a little time to get back in the house. Not sure about the other Rebs here, but I've been in the Delta all weekend working on deer food plots, hunting camp projects, and getting things ready for the upcoming duck season (which is right around the corner). I have AT&T and thus have no Internet coverage at my camp.

I thought the Rebel defense played well enough, for the most part, to give the Rebs a chance to compete and win the game. But our offense struggled to score touchdowns in the red zone. And I thought that Freeze showed impatience with his decisions to "go for it" on 4th downs in the red zone, instead of trying the field goals. Had we kicked the field goals, the game most likely would have been 9-6 at halftime, and likely 16-9 early in the 4th quarter. Staying within one score is important in defensive oriented games like that one turned out to be, and it is important, IMO, to get some points, even if a field goal, after driving the ball into the red zone --- it helps the offense mentally. Saban took the field goals -- 3 times. And inched out to a two score lead at half. Needless to say, I was disappointed in Freeze's decision making in this regard.

Also, once again, in the second quarter, I thought he got too cute with the play calling on a nice momentum gaining drive into the red zone, with the pass by receiver Treadwell --- that would have been a difficult pass to complete even for an experienced QB. It resulted in an INT and killed a good scoring opportunity.

I think Freeze coached us right out of the game with his imprudent decisions. Too much gambling IMO. I would like to see more maturity from him in the future.

The Tide did a nice job on defense, scheming our offense much better this year than last. And despite our much imprived defense, the Tide O did what it usually does --- enough to win, by taking advantage of what is given by the other team's mistakes. In order to win, the Rebs needed to play largely error free and be opportunistic -- we didn't. Bama dropped the ball on the ground at least 3 times and we didn't come up with it a single time. I hate that we lost, but its just one loss --- to the No 1 ranked team in the country --- it ain't devastating to the season.

At 3-1, and ranked in the Top 25, I like where the Rebs are at this point. We are a little ahead of where I thought we would likely be at this point in the season. The upcoming game against Auburn is a big one for the Rebels. We really need a W

Hey George, right back at ya:

I seriously doubt that some of you actually watch college football and have much of a clue --- you are just here to argue and post cute little tv trivia pics and gifs.

I was there and proud the way our defense played. Offense didn't show up. No conspiracy theories, we got out asses kicked, period. No excuses. We will regroup and play the next game. This is a huge win for you MSU fans. Congrats! Gonna be fun watching State torch LSU this weekend.

You wouldn't believe the contingency of Ole Miss fans that actually believe the offense had no chance in this game because of that guy in the pressbox. Grasping for straws, grasping for straws.

I agree 100%, those people don't understand the game and are probably the same ones that were predicting us to upset Alabama. This had no bearing on the game whatsoever. A couple of our players feel betrayed by this guy because they were tight with him, that's all. The question for this board is this, what's more important to MSU fans now? Success of your team, or failure of OM? We lost to the #1, defending national champions and y'all act like we should be ashamed of our coaches and team. I'm not.

I just remember the $#!+ talking from Rebel fans when State lost to Bama last year. It's not about being ashamed. It's about going into a game WAY overconfident after barely beating a weak Vandy, a worse Texas team, and a cupcake. Then you let your QB run his mouth. You don't give the #1 team in the nation that bulletin board material. This bama teams has some holes in it, and Saban will need to fix asap before they lose a game.

Yeah, that retarded We Believe media PR campaign had nothing to do with it. The two scenarios are exactly the same.

Lawd have mercy.
