i got an old savage 30-06, not many setups will shoot groups with it shooting factory ammo. if i had a reliable source of handloads it sure nuff be hard to beat. and despite popular belief, a savage trigger is near about the easiest in the world to lighten up ( at least the pre accu trigger)

^^ This. I shoot a steyr .308 and it's a tack driver. Good trigger out of the box, well made, and the bolt lock is a nice feature. Great gun for only 1,000 bucks for sure
