Mudsucker, I am informed that Ole Miss now owns the trademark on "Landsharks" for use in football. Jimmy's trademark of the term applies only to beer. The term originated with a Saturday Night Live skit back in the late 70s/early 80s.

I think Jimmy will be ok. His beer sales in MS have jumped pretty high, spiking on certain Fall Saturdays.

I know the skit as I saw it when it first came out. I is old, man! I doubt the kids on UM team doing this know about the skit and know all about the beer!

I know all teams do it, but why would you put plays in your high light reel from teams that have owned you?

I think ole miss has lost to Lsu the past 3 or 4 years straight and lost like 10 of the last 13?

I think they have lost to Bama the last 8 or 9 years straight, and only beat Bama like 9 time in the past 100 years?

Against the Tide, over the last 12 years, the Rebs are officially 5-7, with two wins on the field and 3 by forfeit due to Alabama cheating. Yes, it has been 9 years since the Rebs have beaten the Tide on the field, with a few "close, but no cigar" type games. The Rebs are due to win one ( probably not this year, due to game being in Tuscaloosa).

Let me preface this by saying I hate Alabama and the majoity of their fans, BUT:

this is kind of like that creepy guy in college that always claimed he hooked up with a bunch of hot chicks, and everybody knowing they were passed out? Dont matter how he hooked up with them, just THAT he hooked up with them?

Getting beat on the field, then a team being charged with cheating, and you go back and claim a victory beacause their win is invalid is reaching at best. This may be the National Championship of Moral Victories.

Maybe, but I think we already know for sure who is the perennial "immoral victory" champion of the SEC. Just check out all the asterisk victories listed in the record books. Until my brief google search which led me to Alabama's own SID archives, I had almost ( almost being the operative word here) forgotten just how much serious cheating that the Tide had been guilty of in the past ---so much so that numerous victories had been forfeited or vacated.

The University of Asterik * Crimson Skittles. Has a nice ring to it.
