Dang, that smokes Roger's price then.
Re: If not YETI, then what?
Brute outdoors coolers. Around 125 cheaper than a yeti for a 75 qt

ive got a 65qt yeti and a 20qt yeti. The 65 is a two man deal once its full....and the 20 will hold EXACTLY an 18 pack and 1 bag of ice. I know thats not what you asked but maybe itll help give you an idea of what size to get. IMO the 45 would be about the perfect size.

I have a K2 and a yeti. I bought the K2 first used it a couple months, ran across good deal on yeti 65 and haven't looked back sense. Only drawback to yeti is the weight, which is a plus for the K2. BUT no contest between the 2 on holding ice and durability. The Yeti is way better in my opinion. And I think I chunked my stickers in the can.

This is what I have as we'll and it has done a good job so far of keeping ice for up to 4-5 days. Hate the handles but for $150 50qt I can't complain.deeksdown wrote:http://www.bayouiceboxes.com/
made in bayou la batre, al will put next to a yeti anyday of the week and about half the price. very very good boxes and somewhat local to MS lol.
Re: If not YETI, then what?
never had a yeti blow out the back of a boat or truck, nor had a friend borrow it. prior to the yeti, bet I went thru three or four igloos or soft packs each year because someone said "hey we need a cooler".

Re: If not YETI, then what?
I have a 65 qt yeti and haven't been too terribly impressed with the ice keeping ability. I put 48 drinks and 20lbs of ice in it after work on tues, got up wednesday heading out of town around lunch, checked the cooler and had to put another 15 lbs of ice in it and added another 10 lbs the following day. Got home this afternoon and it was about 90% water and 10% ice. it holds ice water great..... What are you guys seeing as far as how long it'll hold ice. I agree on the size 65 qt is a bit much to handle on your own. it can be done, but it aint fun. all in all the durability is there.

Awhile back I had a 25,45 and 65. I sold the 65 because it was just too big and wouldn't hold ice as long. The 45 smokes the 25 when it comes to keeping ice for the longest time by a landslide.

Re: If not YETI, then what?
I've had a 45 qt Yeti for a lil over 5 years, and I have never been impressed with it ability to hold ice. I buy as much ice with this cooler as I did with any other cooler. I keep it in the bed of my truck and in the summer time I put a bag of ice in it a day.
I have a 100 qt Igloo Maxcold that is way better at holding ice. The only thing the Yeti has in it's favor is it is tough.

This has been my experience with its ice abilities. Also mine has a problem of migrating forward in the back of my truck which will bind the lid from opening becsuse it gets lodged under the lid of my toolbox. Just an annoyance for me because we all know how heavy they are to move. The cooler is extremely durable and if you don't loose it, you'll probably have it for a lifetime.TNBayouBengal wrote:I've had a 45 qt Yeti for a lil over 5 years, and I have never been impressed with it ability to hold ice. Re: If not YETI, then what?
Have a few friends with the k2's and they all like them. Newer ones are suppose to be made a little better they said. I have a 105qt yeti. I got it for the durability. It does keep ice good if you don't open it very much but if you are getting drinks out all day it's not much better than the rest if them. I was going to get a k2 but this one was on sale.
