West:
(1) Bama - Just too good...best receiver and running back in the league with a very capable, experienced QB.
(2) aTm - Everyone is predicting a failure on the part of Manziel...I think he will be very good again.
(3) LSU - They could finish worse but will not finish better
(4) OM - They may actually finish third, but until they beat someone of note, I put them here
(5) AU - They have some talent and a good coaching staff...who knows
(6) ARK - I think the Big 10 coach will experience a rude awakening
(7) State - I think their losses on D will hurt them...(however, they could be the surprise of the SEC)
East:
(1) UGA - They make it to Atlanta to be the bridesmaid once again
(2) UF - I think they are gonna be better than most expect
(3) USCe - Not gonna be as good as many predict...a DE is not gonna win the SEC for you
(4) Vandy - They will have another winning season
(5) UT - Rebuilding
(6) Mizzou - They will suck
(7) UK - When is basketball season?
SECCG - Bama handles UGA is a similar fashion to last year...close throughout...Bama pulls away in the end.
BCSCG - Bama will beat Ohio State be at least 4 TDs on their way to the third National Championship in a row and fourth in five years.
What say you?

WEST:
1)Bama...3 in a row
2)LSU...still a lot of talent, capable
3)Auburn...talent was there but now better coaching, especially from DC
4)TX A&M...great QB but not same players around him
5)Arkie...bottom 3 in west is toss up, better coached this time
6)UM...bottom 3 in west is toss up, some 1 deep talent but still lack depth, possible suprise team
7)MSU...bottom 3 in west is toss up, tough games early put cloud over team, Mullen seat warms
EAST:
1)Georgia...talented, leaders on team, confidence from last season
2)USC...really good football team that will always lose one suprising game that keeps them out of #1
3)Florida...talent like UF supposed to have and getting better, maybe suprise team in east
4)UT...who knows about this team??? Anybody??? Anyone??? Got to have some talent.
5)Mizzou...still getting broken in to SEC, know what to expect and scattered talent will win them a few games
6)Vandy...over achieve as they have in past couple of seasons and they may be #4 or #5 in east
7)Kentucky...new coach, more excitement, some progress, but still a tall hill to climb

SECCG: I don't think many people realize how good Spurrier and Co. will be this year. I think Bama still wins it, but it isn't going to be a one horse show. Who knows, USCe may knock them off.
NCG: Bama or USCe vs. the field.....whoever it is, SEC gets another trophy.

Re: Close Enough - SEC Prediction Thread 2013
Blah, blah, blah, boring, boring, boring..... Here are some more exciting predictions:
WEST: Mississippi Rises
1) Ole Miss: 15-0 SEC West champs, SEC champs, BCS National Champions: Heisman Trophy winner Bo Wallace leads the underdog Rebels on a surprising, improbable run to their first national title in the modern era of college football. Hugh Freeze, after only year two at the helm of the Rebel ship, declares that the Rebels are now officially out of "the wilderness". In the aftermath of the title game, a "naked, but not afraid" attorney from the Chickasaw nation of Northeast MS, adorned with nothing but warpaint and a large smile, is arrested after streaking through the Quad on the Ole Miss campus.
2) MSU: 12-1 SEC West runner up, first BCS Bowl. Led by Ladarious Perkins, Oxford's newest resident and Library regular, the Bulldogs shock the college football world, leading the nation in rushing offense. Only loss of season is to the Rebels in the Egg Bowl. After a close loss to arch rival Ole Miss, Mullen states : "We'll probably never beat TSUN again, but we will ride their coattails to unprecedented heights at MSU"...."I'm learning a hell of lot from Hugh Freeze".
3) Texas A&M: 11-2 Despite a stellar season by Johnny Manziel, the Aggies drop games to the two Mississippi teams. Manziel declares:" I'm pretty damned great, but those Mississippi boys are just....just... AWESOME man....I sure would like to finish my college career at Ole Miss ... with all those pretty girls.... great nightlife....and my homie Marshall Henderson".
4) and 5) Alabama and LSU: 7-5 Dazed and confused, the Tide and Tigers stagger to the end of the season finishing tied for fourth in the SEC West. Saban is miffed that the Tide was "robbed" of the Libery Bowl by LSU, settling instead for the Compass Bowl in Birmingham. Mass suicides are prevalent throughout the state of Alabama. Unless the SEC "slows down all the no huddle spread offenses", Saban threatens to leave college football for the NFL again. Miles says he "doesn't know much about that no huddle spread offense stuff", but he "plans to look into it".
The rest? It don't make a damned bit of difference.

Re: Close Enough - SEC Prediction Thread 2013
Bama may be the "best" team but what are the odds of winning 3 in a row and 4 of the last 5. So much has to go right even for the best team to win it all. Like no injuries to key players(McCarron and Yeldon), having a few breaks go your way when you are not playing your best, and other teams losing if you happen to lose one game. With that said I really don't see anyone in the west going to Atlanta over Bama but it is a very good possibility Bama losses in Atlanta.

If you look at the University of Louisville's schedule, it is hard to imagine they can't go undefeated and consequently have bragging rights to be in the Championship game come January. Sure, they had a great year, have a great qb, took it to the Florida Gators in the Sugar Bowl, but my gosh, aside from Kentucky, I think you could put most anyone else from the SEC (well not Auburn, sorry eSJay), and they may go 12-0 as well.

simply, if I had to put cash money on it...I'd say odds are pretty good.mshunter77 wrote:Bama may be the "best" team but what are the odds of winning 3 in a row and 4 of the last 5.
