my latest test with a short shaft model boat did not do so well either. i had to get someone else to go for the test ride with me. so as long as they sat in the front, it would jump up on plane just fine. otherwise, i would trim the unit all the way down and still could not get the boat nose to lay ...

apparently the model i tested was for a tall transom. he gave me a measurement 3.5" longer than the one you gave me ducman. thanks for the reply. i guess now knowing this, i'll reschedule another test. please don't hesitate asking if i can somehow or someday help you guys out. happy hunting and keep ...

congrats! you sure have a pretty dog. it's a good feeling when you see all the effort and work payoff like that; keep them falling. it reminds me of the day my now 11 yr. old retired lab made his first retrieve......wish we could rewind time.... :wink:

guys i overlooked the most important measurement. it is not the crank center to drive center, it is the drive tube center to top of transom. sorry. thanks in advance for your help.

jim, i really can't answer that question till monday or tuesday unless ducman can provide me a measurement cause i don't know myself. you probabaly hit the nail on the head though. the models for tall transoms should be 3-5" longer so this could explain why the belt housing ...

thanks for the reply eli. my boat is a 15' X 44" LakeSport .100 gage all welded mod-V. the transom height appears to be 17" and i thought it carried the weight very well. i could have still used the motor, but being an engineer by trade, my first impression lead me to believe the belt housing is too ...

any of you guys running these engines out there? if so, please do me a favor and measure the distance from lower drive shaft tube "center" to approximately "center" of upper drive pulley or engine shaft "center". i tried one of these, different make, and it did not do so well on my boat. the belt ...
