Re: trail cams
Same for me. My Moultrie takes much better pictures during the night and day than my Primos Truth cams.

Coast Turkey Before and After
I had this gobbler on camera a few times the week leading up to the opener. It wasn't until Friday afternoon that I had real good pictures of him and could tell he was a long beard. Needless to say I was pretty pumped as we do not get a lot of opportunities down here.

Re: Texas outfitter?
I have been with the following and have had good hunts with each:
B and B Outfitters-more rustic camping and more intensely semi guided (they knew exactly where the birds were and put you out there)
West Kerr Ranch-nicer lodging and more of a traditional semi guided (they put you in an area to ...

Re: How many of you keep a log book?
I started out writing them down around 2003 and did that for a few years. Stopped taking any notes or keeping a ledger for a few years after that. I started with a yearly hunting record spreadsheet with the same information you mentioned back in 2009 and have been keeping up with it now. Its fun to ...

Re: Dog stand?
Will the sport stand hold up to a saltwater environment ? I noticed the Avery legs were made from aluminum and could be more beneficial for me hunting in a salty marsh. I don't see where it says what the sport stand is made of. I am also in the market for a dog stand. Avery is on backorder right now ...

Re: Blood dog near canton
I did not find him. After reviewing everything that happened (hit him in the shoulder) we aren't sure the arrow penetrated. Really hoping it was a flesh wound. We trailed about 150 yards of blood and then didn't find anything else. Let him sit overnight and put a dog on the trail the next morning ...

Re: Slams??
I have them all but a Merriam's. Hunted them in 2010 in North West Nebraska with a foot of snow on the ground for the first two days. Had the opportunity at killing a jake (perfectly legal) but decided to wait for a Tom so my slam would be legit. Going to Colorado this year to hopefully complete ...
