Lifejackets
I bought some Stearns lifevests from Wal-mart for $27. They are very comfortable in that the flotation material is very thin and nonintrusive. It's not camo but comes in a "marsh brown" color that blends in well. Check them out.

f and f boats
Something to think about when buying a wider boat that 72". My brother has a wide 18' foot jon boat with a 70 hp Yamaha, just a back seat and front deck. Great boat for the river but the darn thing won't turn at least not in a reasonable radius. Has a steering wheel and man it's a tough boat to ...

I agree with you, especially on the lower limits. I'd be happy with a 3 duck limit but i'd sure like to keep the 60 days. And do away with the robos.

Need Hunting Location Tip Please!
Hey Mississippi,
SCH said it right, you don't know what it's like to not have ANY ducks. I live in Al, we had a bunch of rain the last week of the season and the Tn. river flooded some public ground that had standing corn in it, about 500 acres of good corn. They leave about 1/3 of it for the deer ...

Welcome to the fold Steel Shot. Most guys on here have the same attitude as you, cna't wait for next year. A bad day duck hunting beast the hell out of a good day deer hunting. We all get a little forgetful. I remember when the limit was 2 mallards and if you were able to get a limit you were happy ...

PICK YOUR HUNTIN PARTNERS CAREFULLY
Judge, the crapping on the plate--well I don't have any advice on. The snoring can be fixed and this guy really should talk to a doctor. He undoubtedly has a sleeping disorder that can be fixed. My brother-in-law snored like a JAKE brake also but after the doctor fixed him up the problem vanished ...

How many years experience?
33 years, I thought that I would have figued them out by now.
I too now live in Al, originally from Mo. Tough to shoot one down here, been going back to southern Mo for serious hunting. It's still fun.

I don't know about where to get a female. I have a 9 year old male with good disposition and a great nose that is on his last year to hunt. I am trying to find a good female to breed him with so that i can get a puppy.
I have only had males, so I am far from an expert. I intend to get another male ...

Duck Numbers
I think the are still in Mo. I hunted Sat and Sun. in south Mo. Saturday 4 of us shot 5 mallards and 4 shovelers (only because they continued to aggravate us to the point that they just HAD to be shot). On Sunday, 4 of us shot 15 mallards and one woodduck. We had to break about 1/4 inch of ice to ...

What would be the best limit on ducks
Crow has the right answer IMHO. Only 1 hen shoud be allowed. A longer season may be possible with that kind of limit. I know all you "southerners" will just say there are no ducks till mid Dec anyway, but it would be nice to have a longer season. There are some years when the ducks move down earlier ...

Teal gone!?!
I didn't hunt yesterday but stopped at a pond to look at the relatively high water (this wet summer has been great). Anyway, the water was pushed up into the smartweed and I flushed 150 teal out of the corner. They flew to the other end of the pond and set down again. Going to try to hunt 'm this ...

Spinning Wing Decoys Outlawed?
This is great news. Ban the damned things then we can get back to hunting ducks the way they are supposed to be hunted. I say we start a campaign and write to our representatives at the state and federal level to support a ban. what you guys think?
