Yes you can run but your points will not count if you don't register the dog 60 days after you pass the test. I would recomend that you register the dog so you can get your points. The hunt test game really is fun and once you go you will be hooked. It is the most realstic scenarios and setups next to hunting. It is a great way to meet and get to know some real sharp people and gain some good training tips. You might even gain a few training partners along the way. Go to
http://ukcdogs.com/hr/ to get a full schedule and rules. One last thing gun safety is of the upmost priority so please read and follow the rules. If you decide to go there will be plenty of people there to help with any questions you may have. When I first started I would even ask the judges questions during the test, so don't be afraid to ask them anything. The judges almost always pull the first time handlers to the side and make sure that they are comfortable with the test before they start. Hope this helps I live in Fulton and I am always looking for more training partners. If interested drop me a pm and we will get together.

by chance
First one held in Miss. this spring will be South Miss. First weekend in March. Several UKC clubs in Miss. MS/BAMA at Waynesboro, South Miss. at Hattiesburg, Old Hatchie at Corinth and Southern Flight in Horn Lake. Take your pick--all good clubs.
You will have an extra charge to run a non-UKC registered dog in HRC hunt tests and an extra charge for non-HRC members. oldriverhunter is right about points. You have to register your dog within 60 days of event for the points to count towards titles.
