Found dog...Brittany

Guys I found a Brittany on 82 last friday at Mathiston. It was about to get ran over so I loaded it in the truck with me. I asked the lady whose dog it was, she didnt know. So I left my card, in the hopes the owner would come looking for it, and took the dog to my kennel. I let the dog out on a hunt we had saturday and it knows the game. Its somebody's bird dog. If any of you have lost one or know who has give me a call. I've got enough dogs. Oh yeah, you will have to id it.

Kevan, that stinks but thanks for pulling the dog out of traffic. Somebody will for sure want it back. If no response, get your vet to scan the dog - if it was a high dollar pup odds are good it has an Avid chip that will have the owner's name and info.

When I raised dogs we chipped all the puppies. Costs about $15 and any vet or animal shelter can scan if they get lost/stolen.

I'm guessing it's brown, with some white. Around 40 pounds or so. Curly coat. Can I have her now? I could use a quail dog.

Might just try callin all the local vets and describe the dog, they can probably point you to the owner.

took the words right outta my mouth, if you don't find the owner after a while I'm sure you can easily find it a good home on here. Call the vet and shelters and leave the dog info and phone number. I guarantee someone is looking for it, my local vet and shelter keep track when people call and if they called looking for it they could give you their number. Definately check for a chip or tattoo, if your real dedicated you can put up some found dog signs. I wouldn't mention that it's a hunting dog, I found a very well trained lab last year and put out signs and had multiple people trying to claim it was their dog.....2 weeks later the actual owner called and came and got him. Boy have I never seen a lab so happy in his life

Fella on the TN boards said he lost a Female lab. Not sure where. Let me see if I can contact him. Hopefully its his.

My apologies. When I saw "dog found" my first thought was the fella on the TN site who lost his lab.

Good intentions bad reading skills!
