Remembering this morning...Doc Gulledge

I'm about to take a group out this morning and am sitting here thinking about a fellow who passed away yesterday. Although I've only known him a few years, I've known his passion for quail hunting and bird dogs for a long time. I looked out from the cabin to a frost covered field this morning and remembered our conversation last year as we stood on the porch, sipping coffee(he had a diet coke) admiring a similar frost. We'll miss you Doc. "A wing and a prayer" has a lot of meaning this morning.

You never know when moments like that are going to hit you.....but if you've never experienced such a thing - it can be powerful when it does. Nice way to remember someone - and they, you.
I honestly think if a person is sensative enough to recognize and appreciate someone else's impact on their lives, they will occassionally 'come-back' in those moments to touch your heart - it's their way of reciprocating and acknowledging your thought - and rememberence. Obviously, he thought highly of you, too.
That's why it's important to live in the moment and appreciate the special times we share with special people, even a seemingly simple thing like frost on a field. It triggers memories later in the journey.
Nice post, Kevan
