Choke tube problem

Anybody ever had to get a stuck choke tube out? Any tricks or suggestions on how to do it? Need to get this one out. Please help cause the choke tube wrench aint gonna do it. Thanks guys.

lol. Not quite the answer i was looking for. I dont think it is rusted in. I hand tightened it pretty tight last season cause it kept working out. Not saying there is no rust in there cause there could be, and prolly is since i cant budge it.

soak it in kroil for a couple of days if it wont budge after that it aint coming out you can get it at most hardware stores

Oil it and use a heat gun to heat it up and it should come out, learned that trick from a gunsmith this weekend.

If you try all the tricks and still can't get it out, pm The Waterfowler and he can put you in touch with a gunsmith that will guarantee you that he can get it out without cutting your barrel of screwing up the threads. You may not actually have that choke tube anymore, but it will be out.

if choke has port holes in it, take a small screwdriver and stick through the holes. use kinda like a Tee-handle and try to get it to turn. this will give you more leverage than a choke wrench. also try turning choke as if you are tightening it. I know that is backward but sometimes all it takes is for it to move just a little bit, then go back and forth until the it becomes loose.

The choke does not have port holes in it. Also, will any of the methods above remove the blueing from the barrel?? Thanks guys!!

The methods mentioned will not remove the blueing, if you go the heat gun route a hair dryer will also work just don't get it real close it takes a few minutes to get it to the heat level needed.

I got a rusted in tube out after a "gunsmith" failed to succeed by heating the tube end of the barrel in boiling water (the water evaporates quickly after being removed) and as soon as dry submerging it in a quality penetrating oil past the threads. As the barrel cools it will shrink slightly and draw the penetrating oil into the threads.
Worked for me.

i had to have mine cut out last year. it was rusted in. took that sucker to swanns and had it back in 3 days. didnt mess up a thing.

Choke lube sure is cheaper! I am a religious user after two episodes like this.

you getter clarify that or some of the younger fellas will be puttin KY on their choke tubes!
