Old Duckhunt4 and I took off on a weekend scouting trip this weekend and checked out several places that we knew existed because we found them on photo's from the terra server but have never made time to GPS them in.
We took out early morning and walked through waist deep water veg. for mor than two hours before we finally located the lost world. As we approched the hole we could hear ducks yacking and we loaded up in our sneak boat and made a few paddles into one of the finest duck holes in the state. Mallards sprang up in all directions and could have been no less than 300. Take a look at these here pictures boys and tell me if this is not the duck hole from heaven...

By the way we had a hole called the hard hole (because it was very hard to get to) But it is a cake walk compared to this one.

Still we plan on hunting it opening weekend and have now named it the runway hole. Because ducks come in here like it was a runway... hehehe get it....

You notice the water veg on the side of this hole. Well that is what we had to walk through for almost a mile.
Should be easier the more we do it.

Best hunt I ever went on was the roughest, but well worth it. We paddled and drug a boat for an hour and then waded through timber water up to the top of my waders for another hour to get where we were going to hunt. Never had a chance to throw out a deke. We got to the opening in the canopy and the ducks were falling in. They were literally "in yo face" when they came down. The ducks never had a chance. I almost felt guilty for a moment, but then thought about how far back in the woods we were and how tough it was to get there. We got rewarded for our effort. We had 4 greenheads and 2 woodies on each of our straps 15 minutes after arrival. Now that is location. I don't know many people at all who would have gon through that to get where we hunted.

Good looking hole Dan, feel free to pass on coordinates.

If it's that hard to get to, I hope you don't hunt it without Duckhunt4 (or Duckhunt4 without you). You won't have a problem with hypothermia on opening day, but anybody could easily end up snakebit or in a gator fight...neither would be much fun by yourself :)

I can't believe opening day is just around the corner. I'm still cutting grass in the front yard.

Nice looking place. I'm sure the shovelers will love it

Hole number two
Ole duckhunt4 and I will have more places to hunt this year than we could possibly go to on a regular basis. Didn't get too many birds out of this place this morning. Not real hard to get to either but still has promise.
