Mallard Tail Feathers
I was wondering if any of you out there have any cool unique ideas as what to do with mallard tail feathers. I've been collection them for a while now and was wondering what some of ya'll do or are thinking about doing with them if you hold to them as well.

Re: Mallard Tail Feathers
Probably the most impressive site with drake tail feathers that I have ever seen, was back about 1968. We were hunting the Sunflower River backwater, had gotten soaked to bone in about 32 degree weather. A man named Rochell had a camp on stilts over the Sunflower River backwater called "This is It". He took us there to dry our clothes and warm by his hugh fireplace. The pecky cypress above the mantle was coverd almost solid with tail feathers. If I had a duck camp somewhere, thats what I would do with them. Mighty impressive to a 17 year old hooked on Greenheads!

Let me answer a question --- with a question ---- What is a greenwaveduck? I have been ducking the Delta since 1964 and I have never heard of a greenwaveduck. Sorry your post went south, I guess I put too many details in my original post.

I have a piece of foam covered in khaki burlap sitting on my desk. I stick the mallard curly tails and other random feathers in it.

Re: Mallard Tail Feathers
At our lil camp we put them in cut pieces of cardboard. Its simple and all but it serves its purpose. We put one up each year with every mallard tail and Pintail tail feather we kill its pretty neat. We started this bout 5 years ago and just designated a wall to put them on.
Damn, i thought I had that one
Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

I out my certificates from banded ducks in a frame and put the tail feathers as a border to the frame on the inside. If you can find an old rustic looking frame that is the length of a tail feather to big and then fill in the space with the feathers it is pretty neat looking.

I have several pics around the house like this. I have also seen a trucker style hat( one with the netting on the back) with tail-feathers stuck in all the holes in the net part. Pretty neat lookin.

I put them on an old lamp shade in the "man room". I poke them through the shade to give them stability. A low watt bulb (40 watt) gives it the best illumination. When you turn the lamp on, it makes for a pretty cool lamp shade. Not to mention it pisses off my wife.

I have a huge (like gallon size) brandy snifter that I have put all the curleys from the last 6 years in. I'll take a pic of it and post it later.
Steal that idea from Tip did ya?
I did the same thing!
