I've got a new friend who needs our help.

He lost his dad when he was five years old and has an uncle who stepped up and spent alot of time with him teaching the man stuff. Been his father figure, hunting buddy, ... all the things our dads (those of us fortunate enough to have had them around for a while) were/are to us.

He just found out that his uncle has cancer in both lungs. The docs gave him two to three months with no intention of treating the tumors.

Something just doesn't add up, though, and he is going to Houston, TX for a second oppinion with high hopes of getting treatment.

Whole family is really at wit's end, confused, worried, upset. They don't know whether to be positive and have hope, or to try to come to grips with it.

You guys know what to do!
I'm very grateful!

I lost my mother to cancer; the doctors originally said she had lung cancer; however it turned out to be breast cancer.

I hope that your friend’s family will seek a second opinion and travel to Houston. Treatments can make some feel worst that the cancer itself.

We will pray for God’s guidance and power to guide him and his family during this time.

I'll be praying for you friend's uncle and family. I took my Dad to Houston about a year ago, to M D Anderson I suppose that's where they are going. Thought Dad had cancer, but when they did the surgery thay said it was not, just some kind of a sist. God still works miracles, and I praise HIM for it.

Also lost my mother to cancer and had cancer myself. All you can do is look to God. He will take care of you. You may not understand His reasons at the time, but you have to have faith. Will be praying for the gentleman. God Bless.

I'll say a prayer for your friends uncle. I lost my mother to cancer also as several others have. Its not easy. We never know what the good Lord has in store for us, but He will only give us what we can handle. Tell him to trust in the Lord and he will be ok.

I think it must be of God that this message resurfaced after a couple of weeks, because they need our prayers more now than before. They went to Houston only to have the first doctors diagnosis confirmed. Terminal lung cancer with only a couple of months to live. They have given him some medicine to proling it so that he can get things in order for his family, but he took a drastic turn this week. I don't think the family is handling it well.

Pray for thier comfort and that they will make an effort to look to God for his purpose in this. Pray that I can be, say, do what they need me to.
