Bird Report

Postby bluwtr » Tue Nov 18, 2008 4:23 pm

I was out on the water today for work and we saw 7 snows in two groups, one pintail and I believe a group of 12 gadwall. What I'm calling gads were kind of far so it was hard to tell.

Anyone else seeing anything to speak of? Guess this front may have moved a few.

And for God's sake don't give any locations. I'm speaking in generalities. Please no hate mail. :(

They said on the Weather Channel this morning that we're seeing average daytime temps across the midwest, south and east that are usually seen in mid to late Jan. That has to push some birds down early.

Have seen 3 groups of geese come over yesterday(2) and today(1) in east-central MS. 'Bout 10 miles north of Laurel. Probably 70-80 birds total. Think they were snows and specklebellies. Not a duck hunter myself, but know for sure they weren't Canadas. Two flocks going east, one flock headed northwest........

I've seen a good many ducks lately in alabama ..

In Mississippi, I was outside last night letting the dogs run and heard a couple groups of geese fly over. Saw some fly over about 1pm today too.
