Anybody buying more firepower??

Postby THE BUCKMAN » Wed Oct 29, 2008 8:20 am

Heard last night the Nation as a whole is gearing up, due to a possible Democrat president going into office. 20% increase in gun sales Nationwide. 35% Statewide.

Any of you guys bought new weapons lately because of this? If not, then for what other reason, besides hunting season being here?

I bought a Ruger 9 mm two weeks ago because who knows what those liberal wacko's might do as far as gun control laws. I figure it is alot harder to take it away from me than to keep me from buying it.

You ought to be responsible for safety and security in a 160,000 student school district with 50% white and 30% black! It's starting already with the election getting close. My pucker factor is serious these days. On Wednesday next week, you probably could measure my blood pressure on the richter scale!

We're trying to head as much off as is possible by having advisement session on democracy, freedom, the role and responsibility of a citizen, what being an American should mean to each of us, and how out election process is unique in the world. (change of power without bloodshed) Trying to stay away from the race and gender issues, but that is there no matter!

Prayers please.

I literally just finished checking some prices on-line for additional clips and a consealment holster. With the 'time change' coming - pardon the pun - and the fact that I have to drive thru tha 'hood to get to and from work; I am considering more than ever the option of CCW.

From my thoughts, here are the pro's: Jackfrica crime has dramatically increased since Katrina due to the thugs from New Orleans being shipped to Houston and here and other points north, McMillan has openly stated that he is competing with McDonalds for employees due to the low pay for JPD officers, JPD budgets are so strained that they cannot adequately train personnel in the use of firearms and that has me thinking of what other training do they lack, Hurricane Ike hit Houston and Galveston and therefore the misplaced New Orleans thugs were sent elsewhere (hopefully Phoenix, but I doubt it) and I'm afraid that some may have come here - we'll see, Mississippi still has some of the most leanient gun laws in the country - that includes permit regulations, our 'castle doctrine' laws are the most broad, we may find ourselves with only one Republican Senator, and we may find ourselves with Democrats controling the following - White House, Senate, AND House of Representatives.

Here are the cons for me: Money is very tight right now, so it is hard to see spending funds on things that under normal conditions I wouldn't even think about because the 2nd Ammendment already allows these protections (spending money out of fear is wrong in my book), and getting the wife to accept the purchase (Remember, where she's from, they don't have the right to keep and bear arms.)

Unfortunately, both of these 'cons' are current 'deal-breakers'. We'll see if things change next week. after the time change and the election. (Depending on the outcome, I may be more able to convince her of my thoughts.)

Sorry for the rant, but that's my $0.02.

Everyone should stock up on ammo because if the obama bi laden camp gets in they will go after ammo first making it harder to get, then go after semi auto guns, then guns in general.... I HOPE NOT BUT BETTER BE PREPARED...

maybe that will cut down on the duck hunters that shoot 40 times a morning.

now the fun part comes, buying ammo for them all..

Wolf steel-case HP's are $6 a box, function fine and reasonably accurate, good plinking ammo.
