you kill any black jacks this year, our season was kinda weird, there is too much corn in north ms. them old water way geese are getting smart. what do you think about the snow season closing so early, it all ends jan.31

It all ends jan 31st, so feb 1st the conservation order comes into effect. MS had the right ideal, opening the season 107 days (# of days allowed) before jan 31st, so the season will be open when they get here. Arkansas finally opened the season before ducks, but no conservation rules, just 12 days of goose hunting before ducks, I really wanted a snow only, conservation rule hunt to get a lick in on them before duck season opened. 65 day old geese with no plugs and ecall would rock on halloween....No deal. Ark was scared of the backlash of any goose hunting before duck season, folks thinking its gonna spook ducks. A mutal friend of mine and the feller that sets arkie seasons sends my emails (read bitching) about the season to that feller, and then sends his responce, so I know it for a fact. Ark closed the weekend before Christmas, stupid stupid stupid. We got 60 days, and up to 2 splits, no reason to close any weekend day, let alone a day when lots of kids home from school and want to hunt....
Early goose, sucked. Went opening day with drew and ty. They couldnt wait the geese out, watched em leave, they couldnt wait for them to come back. Teal all over us. Didnt get to go teal hunting till thursday before last (hunt tests first 2 weekends of teal season), kids skipped school and we went. Welp, it was lighting, and raining, so i turned around and took them back, no need to miss a day like that...They went to school, and of course it turned out beatyful. So last monday they skipped and we went, of course i was sick as a dog, never saw a teal, figgers. We have had a coupla good dove hunts, including a pay hunt first weekend drew & ty both got their first doves (7 & 4 kills a piece) rowdy got his first doves, and I got a limit. Only took 12 boxes for the 3 of us! hehe.
