Saw my first Canvas Backs ever this week! Big flock, 30 or so, on a catfish pond along side the highway. Stopped and watched a while. The only other Cans I had ever seen were in captivity. Thought it was pretty neat. Wish I knew who owned those ponds!

SkippyJ ,
Yep, still in the same place. What else is out there with those Cans? Buffle Heads? Golden Eyes? Blue Bills?
I can't see well enought to tell what the smaller ducks are.
Injun,
Don't worry about me. Just wishfull thinking. I sure would like to see a couple of those big boys working a spread of decoys!

Cans, ringnecks, few Mergs, mergs like the other side of the road for some reason, few bufflehead. Last time I saw Cans on that place was couple years back in Feb. Guess they were on the way back and stop for about a week.
I have shot it before and limited out quick, but shootin' divers just don't do much for me. I'll run by your work if I find some in the next few weeks. With out some major weather it's not looking real good, but who knows.

Sorry boys, two problems with your plans.
1) Cans are closed for the season.
2) We leased that land last week, both sides of 39N and the rest of the water he owns. No kiddin'.
Appreciate your honoring both reasons not to shoot there.
For what it's worth, there are a lot of birds around Okatibbee lately.
Merry Christmas.
No Kidding, can't shoot Cans?????

Well I knew about the Cans!!
Lease??? All ways hunted it for free, but have at it.
That your truck wif the ladder racks??
I've hunted before couple times and seen you guys out there if this is who I think it is.
I don't hunt Jokeatibbee anymore, too many folks,
BUT I'm sure the guys that do really appreciate you lettin' everybody else in on it.
But, in retrospect,
Rots a Ruck wif your ringnecks!!!!!
Big $$$$$$$$
