is it common for a female lab to get lazy when she is in season? this will be my second season with Lady coming up this year and this is the first time she's decided to take the day off instead of train. any thoughts will be appreciated.

From my experance with female dogs in season they tend to get a little sqirrelly about everything. Dogs are a lot like humans maybe she just does not feel good. Believe me that happens.

Some dogs arent effected at all, some go to pieces. Any time a big difference in your dogs attitude, something phyiscal should be considered, and of course, dat time is physical. Give her some time off, or light duty till she's herself, or fix her and never miss a hunt or training for it again (wish Id done fatdawg years before i did). travis

I agree w/ goose, give her time off and try to resume training a few days later. these dog get a little freaky somtimes and then the first thing you know they are back to their old self.
