I won this gun at the Ducks Unlimted banquet and did not shot it last duck season.However just pulled it out to shot skeet with a low brass shell,the gun would not shot but one shell then i had to reload it manually.
so i guess my question is , as anyone else had the same problem.

Was the gun thoroughly cleaned after you got it? Beretta, Benelli, Stoeger and Franchi are bad for being gummed up when bought.

I have one! The only time I have problems are when it really needs a good cleaning just like every gun ive ever had. When I first got the gun as what was posted before It was really gummy from the start cleaned it and never had another problem.

What GH22 said. Strip teh action with starter fluid or carb cleaner, wipe with oily rag and try again.

Pull the forearm and look at the top of the tube. It will have several rings that state what to shoot. You can "tune" it to shoot high brass low brass or game loads. This should be in the drivers manuel as well. Good luck with it, because it is a great gun.

a friend has one.... he cant shoot anything unless it is 1 1/8 once.

I bought one from a Ducks Unlimted banquet last year also. I took it hunting the next weekend and it would not eject the 3 1/2" shell with 1 1/4oz. I had to send it back on my dime. They did fix it at no charge. They said a gasket was bad?

Check to see if it is the Varimax 912.. If so, it has a recoil reducing sleeve inside the tube.. It is is set for heavy loads turn it around and it will cycle the lighter loads.. I have a Franchi and it cycle everything.

I went with him yesteday to shoot skeet. After cleaning the gun and flipping the sleeve it worked a little better, but we noticed it wouldn't cycle win. shells. I put some Estate # 8's in it and it performed great. I noticed the Win. shells had a buldge on everyone of them just above the brass. After you shot, the buldge got worse, causing it to stick in the barrel.

i had one and sold it for that very reason. the 912 is gas operated and finicky with light shells. the stoeger is half the price and wont hicup a bit with all shells that i have put thru it

I also have a Stoger and it will shoot whatever you put in it.

I have one and had the same problem when I bought it. I took it back to the store and they said try heaveier shot, still wouldnt work so I carried it back again and they let a gun smith look at it. He said he adjusted it and I shot it a few times and it was fine. Opening morning in the blind I shot one time and heard a click - wouldnt eject the shell. I had to go to Walmart and buy an 870 for the rest of the weekend. Sent it back to the company and they fixed it after a month but have still had other problems with it.

Nutmeg, any problems outta that 870???

I you don't clean all the packing grease of a new gun before you shoot it, it will inhibit it's performance, and can cause long term problems.
