It is that time again where my old waders have started getting a little damp inside and are worn thru 2 of the 3 ply canvas on the inner leg. I am tired of having ti buy a pair every two years. I am looking at the cabelas ultimate hunting wader with armor flex and would like any suggestions you might have on a good pair of waders.

I have been pleased so far with the Rocky waders with the stretchy type cordura covering. They have lasted 3 full seasons so far, and have had a lot of use.

I asked a similar question just last month. My last two pair of waders have been canvas. Both lasted three seasons. My new pair are made by RED BALL and are the thickest yet. I didn't really go for the neoprene waders because several people said that they sometimes got too hot when it was during one of the warmer duck hunting days. I also heard that they were easier to walk in. Plus two pair of my Red Ball waders equal the topline, Cordura, bulletproof neoprene waders in Cabella's. That means that the neoprene must last atleast six years.

I have the same Rocky waders as Gulfcoast. I really like them alot. They are pretty warm, so I wear less clothes when I use them.

I bought a pair of Cabelas Ultimate hunting waders last year they did a great job for me. Never got cold and really tough also not as expensive as some of the rest, around $159.00.

I sure would love to have a pair of those rockys or cabelas ultimate waders, but I just can't make myself spend that much money on them. I've been using the same pair of cordura/rubber Hodgemans for about five years now. They aren't always the most comfortable and don't make me look like the big bid duck slayer ( more like a circus clown in big pants), but they have always kept me dry and warm, and, for the money I would spend on the rockys or cabelas, I can stay in hodgemans for about 20 years!

Depending on where you live, a couple of times per year they have a fire sale on discontinued neoprene waders at the Rocky outlet in West Point, MS. You can get them for less than half price. Someone usually posts a notice on this board when that happens.

I don't believe the Rocky Outlet Store is open anymore! I believe they closed it about a month ago. Just thought I would let you know.

I have been hunting in hodgemans for 2 years but find that they are about 2" to short sometime. My belly is so fat I need some tall waders to make up for it.

B.Long, Cabela's has some nice waders for around 160.00, they have stout sizes. I know cause I have a pair of Stout 12's, they have held up well and almost keep me to warm. baldduck

I really like the Lacrosse Brush Tuff 100's Expandable. They are a little on the warm side but extremely comfortable and the side expansion will accommodate a heavy coat or a little extra around the middle.

BLong.....Mack's in Stuttgart, AR has Hodgemans in regular and tall sizes. If you go, ask for the tall, gray-haired gentleman named Milton Stoveson (sp?).....he'll fit you with the right pair.....he's their wader 'specialist'...'have bought a couple of pairs of boots from him over the years. B.Long, I have never owned a pair of waders that weren't too short sometimes. I believe I could get water in them if they came up to my eyeballs.

I've hunted in a pair of Hodgman's canvas waders since '94. I've only had to patch them once, and I keep them stored inside. They hold water now as well as they did when they were new.
