Gator HPX vs. Ranger vs. Rhino

Postby brandon327 » Tue Feb 21, 2006 8:00 pm

What are the pro's and con's of each? I am looking at it for hunting and working on a farm. i like the gator b/c of the steel bed instead of the composite like the rhino. I am not sure what kind of bed the ranger has.

the main thing with the gator is that it is real slow. I have never liked a polaris of any kind but I will say that my buddy has one and it has held up through some rough stuff. The thing with the Rhino is it has bucket seats and at times you might wish you had a bench seat

For duck hunting, you can't beat the Ranger. The only competition is the Rhino, and the small cargo bed and bucket seats on the Rhino are not good for duck hunting.

I have nothing but positive remarks for the Ranger. It is one
awsome machine. Very quiet, smooth riding, powerful, etc.
I have had it in water up to the seat for about a mile in some
really muddy conditions and never missed a beat.
Rhino has too little cargo capacity, bucket seats, and loud.
My .02 cents.

Looked all of before I bought. I went with the Kubota. It is the only one that is truly shaft driven. The warranty was twice that of the others and it has a diesel engine, last forever. Plus I use mine on the farm more than hunt, its a real workhorse and uses very little fuel. It performs well in mud & water also.

The negitives are weight and speed. Its heavy around 1800# I think, & top speed is around 27 mph. I speed has never been a problem for me. When it's 30 deg. I don't care to go that fast.

Another positive - It has power steering, and a real sharp turning radius.

It's built like a rock & the engine has been used by Kubota for years.

I'm not knock'n any other's just my .02
A double on Spoonies is still a double.

My vote is for the ranger. I have several friends that have them and they have been great. More than likely it will be my next atv purchase. That is if my Honda 300 ever tears up.
