One of my favorite times of the year is setting out my camera to see what I have to look forward to next year. Here is one that will be a nice one next year. He was also running with a spike.
If you zoom in he has three split brow tines on the left side, actually a 10 point. Looks like he's pretty healthy too for this time of year.

That deer's body looks huge! Doesn't look like he's hurting for anything to eat.

yea I'm sayin the food plots are payin off this year later in the season, maybe he can convert all that energy to horns next year. That is a 2 1/2 year old deer I think. What's your thoughts?

That deer is 3 1/2 years old, at the youngest. His body is way to developed for a 2 1/2 and his horns show the same.

I don't know for sure, but just knowledge of my place still makes me think it is a 2 1/2 year old deer. The 3 1/2's usually have bigger racks as a whole. We also keep constant food out (food plots) for these deer year round. I killed one 2 1/2 year old deer this year by mistake and he weighed in at 187, not enormous but pretty good size for his age. Could be wrong though, wouldn't be the 1st time.

If he is 2.5 you have some of the healthiest deer in the country.

I know where the dog hunters will turn loose next November. Better watch them cal chic boys now that you have called them out.

yea go ahead, their land is no where near mine. they would have to drive 30 miles to get to my place, and even if they did there are no access roads to this spot, so unless they have bolt cutters and four wheelers that can't be heard then they'll be waistin their time.....sure would make the game warden happy though, he could prolly write tickets all day long for trespassing, destruction of property, etc.
