Has anyone tried the new Mega Shakers?

The one I am talking about uses 4 AA batteries. Wal Mart has them in stock and they are endorsed by Phil Robertson. I've hunted over them twice and both time the batteries that came if it ran down in about an hour. Is it the batteries that came with it are weak or do they just pull to much juice to run a long time?

I had the same problem with them last weekend. Gonna try some new batteries next time out. Hopefully, that will solve the "one hour issue". We need them to last longer than that, because killing a limit of ducks is taking longer than an hour so far this year.

I hunted with Money and BRF Thursday and Friday and Money had two of them. The batteries that came with them lasted about and hour to an hour and half. He used DuraCell the next time and they didn't last any longer. The things really stir up the water, but you better have a lot of batteries to burn. Getting some rechargable batteries might be the answer.

I bought two this year one lasted about 20 min and died, the other lasted about an hour then it quit also. When I say quit I mean it died, batteries didnt help.

Rechargeables never last as long as the real thing in any product that I have used. So ya better bring about 3 sets of rechargeables for each if you want to be out there after the sun gets above the trees.

I guess I am too late. I was going to start a topic today telling everyone to not buy these things. Only the cultural elites of DU could afford to keep these things going on batteries. I have one of the small ones also and it seems to run a lot longer on two batteries.

"Moonpossum" has to be one of the top 10 screen names I have ever seen. I just spit coffee on the monitor when I read it.

Make you one of those remote controlled ducks and take a kid. Dont buy the ones for a 100 bucks you can build one for about $10-$20 . All that you need is a mag. size decoy (we use flamb.) and a small remote controlled boat from Toys R Us $9.99, cut the bottom out and drill a hole for the antena to come out , put a rubber band around the tail and boat, and you just saved about $70-$80. Just make sure when you cut the bottom out that the boat slides up in the front of the decoy a little bit.

I just sent Phil Robertson an email and let him know nicely, that he has endorsed a piece of crap. If you could get 5 to 6 hours running time out of the Mega Shakers, I'd buy 4 or 5 for those still mornings.
