i was just wondering what you thought about kids in today's society.

reason being good friend got locked up the other night. 2 friends to be exact. anyway my good friend being 18 got his booty beat by his father.

the other on the other hand was talking about kids haveing no respect and such and didn't even say anything to his son.


now everyday you here about the older generation dogging the younger generation. i for one understand. but if i stand corrected isn't the older generation there to provide rules, guidlines, and such for the younger generation. i'm no good kid by any means and have wised up a lot but my dad never said anything like that to us. instead he would slip off his belt and when he got through we learned not to do it again. it also taught us something. i believe anyway. i guess i grew up on the wrong side of the tracks or something. Respect , manners, and common curtousy meant something to my parents, and believe me they imprinted thier beliefs into our backside when we were out or line.

then i get to thinking about politics in our ever day lives. well never mind theres really no need to answer this post. i'm kind of hesitant to see what this country is comeing to. i thought somewhere in some article not to big on congress that the people ran the goverment. now the goverment runs the people. well just like the parents letting the kids run around the people let the goverement run their lives. yep bad deal.

this is comeing from a 20 year old young man in college. keep in mind i have to see our future goverment everyday. why gripe, i'm pretty sure you can see it to.

that post that msduckmen and tsbadb are arguing over got me to thinking. unless our congressman has someone putting something in his back pocket he ain't worried about it. it doesn't concern him or anything he wants. yea i hunt with people that are high up the chain, some are nce, some are a$$es but they have one thing in common. their looking out for number 1. yea there are some good ones but for the most part it's just a sad ordeal.

sorry just had to vent. it's tuesday. and several months away to duck season. can't wait to get back and watch the argument over DNR tomorrow. till then see ya'll later.

Kids in todays society are all a bunch of dope smokin, unprotected sex havin, uneducated, single parented, unemployed, no hair cut gettin, ambitionless, loser degenerates. Just ask my dad...he'll tell ya. America aint perfect...by no means, but, she's the best game in town, and, God Bless her Y'all have a nice day!

don't blame it on the kids! its not their fault their parents didnt raise them right, but on the other had, at some age you gotta grow up! but then you are not a kid anymore!

IMHO, my generation (I'm 54) has done the worst job parenting that I can possibly imagine. Too many of us have tried to be our childrens' buddies instead of being their parents. I would much rather my children "respect" me than "like" me. By insisting that they respect their mother, respect their father, be respectful of others (especially older adults), respect their teachers' authority, go to church on Sunday even if you did stay out late on Saturday night. Then, in addition to insisting that they do these things, they have seem me and their mother do those same things! I don't care what you "tell" a child, they will value what they "see" you do (what you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say...native American proverb)

Having done those things, I am assured that my children not only respect me, I know they love me for it. I see it every day in the young adults they have become. That, my friends, is worth all the anguish a parent feels when he appropriately disciplines a child.

I challenge all you young'uns who have children or who contemplate it...be a parent first; the friendship part comes later, and is so sweet!

crow is right even if you try to be your childs freind ha they still see you as a parent...well till about 12 thats ok after that regardless how much they love you etc your still the enemy.....Once they growup then you become a freind.

i'm truely glad i live in america. i've been to two other countries and was ready to bring it back to the states. just had a little stem to blow off yesterday. it's called pressure and everyday living, i released it and should be good for a week or two.


i'm no parent so i have no way of knowing what it takes to raise a kid the right way. so that should end the discusion. reading the news all day yesterday just got me to thinkin thats all. funny how reading can get a rise out of people but it sure made me a little pi$$ed.

i love my country. if i wasn't here i couldn't say anything about it. i've got several friends that are protecting her right now so i'm very thankful.

Just be careful about how much of what you read you consider to be the truth...rather than what will sell newspapers or magazines.

They never write the good stuff.

Have you ever noticed that everything that happens worldwide in a whole 24 hrs. can be condensed to 1 hr. of news by the tv media? They can't tell you all the stuff that happened, so they just leave out the truth and stick with what they do best...the lascivious!

There is no better way to say it than that. My father literlally beat my booty when I screwed up. Some folks now days would call it child abuse and I aint playing. I had friends who parents did just what crow said tried to be their friends and not parents. I had some friends that got picked up for shop lifting, had one that got caught stealing a dump truck to go joy riding and so on and so on. I aint saying I didn't do nothing wrong but I was smart enough to know my boundaries and not do anything too stupid to go to jail if you know what I meant. I respected my dads belt enough to be more afraid of it than the cops.


With all that said my dad died working on my car a week after I turned 18. There isn't a day that goes by that I dont think about him. I know if it wasn't for his guidance in my younger days I wouldn't be where I am today. I respected my father and I loved my father as far as him being my best friend, he was I just didn't know it until I lost him.


Young fellows (I am one too at 30) always tell you loved ones how you feel and never be to macho to do it. When I dragged my daddy out from under the car the day he died I will never forget saying to myself I cant remember the last time I told him I loved him. That is a mistake I will never make again. I tell all my loved one I love now and realize it takes more of a man to tell than it does not too.

Oh boy did you ever open a can of worms!

Liberalism doesn't help kids, they need direction! Like crow said, get out front and lead the way... Just make sure they are paying attention on a regular basis.
