Jack will not be traveling to NC to call the regional. Please keep him in your thought and prayers. Pnuemonia at his age is very serious.

My hat's off to Jack for all those years of good work, loyalty, etc. At the same time, I think he's run his course. Gosh man, throw in the towel...retire!

Retire? Heck no......our luck we'd end up with a David Yellum type or possibly Hank Flick....

Even on Jack's bad days he's better than alot of radio guys I've ever listened to.

You could do alot better than Cristal, he's gettin old and startin to slip a little. But, he's an icon in the SEC, no matter where you are when you hear that voice you know automatically that it's MSU athletics. I hope he comes out of this ok, like somebody said, that pneumonia is deadly on old folks. Who do you think would be a likely candidate for the job?? Unfortunately, he won't live forever..............

Gettin' old...hell he's about 80. Most folks his age are slipping alright...slipping on the floor and breaking their hip. He does a tremendous job for someone his age and he hasn't changed his style for 50 + years of broadcasting, which means no sugar coating, and he calls it like he sees it. As far as a likely candidate, I would assume Jim Ellis. You never know...could be Stan Torgenson.

Money, that's just the problem--he calls it like he sees it- and he can't see or think like he use to!

If he does come back, listen to the number of times Jim Ellis has to bail him out of a snaffu.

I will shed a tear when the msu family will not be able to listen to a game in his "crystal clear" voice. :(
