Yep, I said at the beginning of the season that I would be pretty much immune this season to UM basketball bashing because I agree we suck. And, like a prophet, we still do. Can't make free throws. Can't make layups.
But, the funny thing is that highly touted MSU is just a couple of points above sucking as well.

Looks like a 3rd place finish in the West for the preseason darling Dogs, a likely hi and bye in the SEC tourney, and a one and done in the NCAA. Then pretty much the entire team graduates.
But hey GH22, toot that horn. The over-rated Dogs just beat the No. 115 team in the land tonight on their home floor by less than 5 points.

Po Monkey, this is MSU you're talking about! We gotta toot the horn when ever we can
Did you see Roberts miss the lay up in the 2nd half?

whens um gonna fire barnes...
now with that said i went to the game
first thangs first give um credit there is no substitute for good shooting and the rebs shot it well in the first half..
this um team is much better than anyone expected... hell i didn't know if they'd win 4 games all year... but they've played hard and still have a shot at a break even season...
hell if you'd told me before the season that with two games left the rebs would still have a shot a making the nit i'd of told ya that you were crazzy as hell....
i've been keeping my fingers crossed that we just get into the ncaa tourney.. ya know thangs kinda work differently in s.vegas...what i mean by that is the last 3 teams we've sent to the ncaa's have all more or less flamed and not lived up to what we thought they'd do...
wouldn't it be irionic if this team which in my opionion is the least talented of the bunch ends up making some noise... i doubt it, but ya never know..
oh yea go to hell um

Barnes is a good coach! He doesn't get much talent to come to UM. When he does get the axe, big programs around the country will fight over him. You ever notice how much David Hobbs plays a part in KY timeouts? The guy may not be able to run a program in it's entirety, but he really contributes during a game.
This is exactly what Stansbury needs. He needs somebody with brains and skill when his team is on the floor. I'd make Barnes assistant head coach IN THE MORNING if he was avialable and I was LT. Those punks Stansbury has on his bench need to be coaching Jr high somewhere. Alright, so I'm a little hard on his assistants, but any one who follows MSU basketball knows I'm right on this...

I dunno if they will ever fire him. He is well liked by the students and the Admin.

Don't be so sure about punking anyone out until you win your "warm up game" against memphis
Barnes stays

I too went to MSU and the game over the weekend. Being a State fan I was a little worried about the rebels winning. TOO CLOSE A GAME TO ME.
MSU state appears over-rated, but they have the ability to win on any given day. Hopefully they start showing what they can do come March Madness.
Barnes will stay at Ole Miss they will take parts out of his contract. Next year he may be on teh hot seat if things don't turn around. Great guy and good coach.
