Is $900-ish your rifle budget? Larue Tactical is putting out a 308 upper kit for around $1200. It would be far superior to anything Diamondback.
Add that to a Matrix Arms DPMS pattern lower and you are into it for $1300-ish.

You might have to wait a month or so for the LaRue but the warranty and level of customer service is worth it.
