Arrogance, egotism, and pride

A couple questions. A while back, OMU leadership stated the Nutt lawsuit had no merit and scoffed at the idea of so much as an apology. Now they've settled. Something changed between those earlier comments and this decision to settle. What changed?
Are the grown-ups calling the shots now?
Did Mars and Nutt dig up more dirt?
Oh, and by the way, are tax payers fitting the bill for this settlement?
Solid info in this article.

Arrogance, egotism and pride will be looked at as the things that cost Ole Miss one of the most successful eras in their football program’s history.
At some point, fans and alums of the University of Mississippi have to get fed up with being fed lies from the people that are running this athletic department.

They didn't want this lawsuit going any further..
Once mars started depositions it was going to get detailed and would've plainly revealed a pattern of lying, unethical behavior, and misconduct..
hell their apology contained a balled face lie in it when they said they never meant to damage coach nutt. $#!+. Making it look like this was nutts was done on purpose to save a highly ranked recruiting class ..
I feel sorry for the good ole miss fans, and there
Are those out there, who have been lied to by the university.. honestly I think the ad and president should both resign over this

If I were an Ole Miss fan I would be pissed about being lied to. You can somewhat stomach the getting caught for cheating. That could happen to any school. Some just do it on a bigger scale. The blatant lying on social media and press conferences is where I would draw the line. In the end all it brought them was more heat from the NCAA.

From what I see and hear, there's more anger at Mullen than at anyone in their own administration or staff.
The lack of accountability is baffling. Always someone else's fault.

From the UM friends that I hang around with that is exactly the case. This whole shim dig was started by Mullen and Leo, it is crazy the thought process that is going on. Bjork should have been fired a long time ago. The players whom have been lied to should be some kind of pissed for being placed in this situation. Back to Nutt, I bet he walked away with a substantial pay check. The last filing clearly showed a pattern to place the blame on Nutt and not the current administrations. When you have call records and news stories down to a T like Mars had Ole Miss knew he had done his homework and they were screwed. Nothing positive was going to come out of this for them.
