How Is Your Duck Season So Far?

You guys killing any ducks? I have not heard a lot of reports. This place is dead as compared to years past relative to trip reports and the like.

I have heard that people with water that are also close to the Mississippi River have been consistently killing birds. Otherwise, from the reports I am getting from friends and co-workers, it has been pretty hit or miss so far.

What say you guys?

Post some pics.

Ours has been really slow since the opener. North delta, not close to MS river. Got pics of sunshine and tweety birds.....

My experience this year in the south delta has been in both timber and soybeans, and both equally unimpressive.

We have started out fair I would say. Nothing like last season start due to weather and water im guessing.
We are right along the river in north delta.

We did notice birds are mojo shy and call shy already. Which seemed odd this early.

Still early, christmas week should change things for the better hopefully.

I think we are in need of a good Midwestern artic blast to get things fired back up again. I think the early November cold snap in the Midwest pushed a lot of birds down that stayed through the opener and following week. I think some of those birds might have actually moved back up further north with this warm weather over the last two weeks.

I've talked to guys that live up there(MO IN SD) that had said that week we got that first big cold front everything they had was gone and left. And now since things have warmed back up they have all moved back in up htere.

Our camp started with 107 straight limits, then in the last week, we've not been able to buy more than about 3 birds.

Started out decent (relative for where we hunt.... probably poor by some's standards) for the 1st 2 or 3 hunts.

Then we had one hunt with 2 shy of a 4 man limit.

This last week or so has been painful. Hoping for more rain and better temps!

We are spoiled down here. On a scale of 1-10 its been a 30. Haven't seen this many birds since we baited them. Don't know what's been the deal with this year but it's been amazing.
