Of all the sports, college baseball is my favorite. One of the main reasons was highlighted this weekend at the SEC Tournament.
My son was fortunate enough to be one of the kids that chased down balls that landed in foul territory, but did not make it to the stands. He was allowed to keep one ball per game and he had to return the rest to the dugouts. After MSU got beat Friday night, he took the ball he caught that night and got all of the MSU players to sign it. He waited patiently for the players to collect their equipment and on the way to the bus they signed his ball. None of them had to to this and all of them did it with a good attitude and most thanked him for coming to the game.
On Sunday, he took one of the balls he got during a Saturday game and the LSU boys signed it after they won on Sunday. Once again, everyone of them did with a smile on their face and great attitude.
I saw this kind of behavior all weekend out of all the teams. If the player had time, I never saw a kid get turned down for a autograph.
I dare say in no other major college sport or professional sport will you get that.

"That's the one trouble with this country: everything, weather, all, hangs on to long. Like our rivers, our land: opaque, slow, violent; shaping and creating the life of man in its implacable and brooding image." William Faulkner
