Bought a new pair of lacrosse rubber boots last year (snake proof pull-on). I hate them, they kill my feet and back. Wore rocky snake-proof lace ups for years but never owned a pair that were truly waterproof. Switched to the rubber for that reason plus I didn't like the new style of rocky lace ups. Thought about a new pair of Danners but have never owned any so need some input. If not Danner what's everybody wearing? Must be snake proof and waterproof and atleast somewhat comfortable. Either way these Lacrosse gotta go, rather go barefoot as to wear those rest of season. Feet are sore as hell from the weekend! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wore Lacrosse rubber snake boots about 10 years ago. I don't know what they are like today but then they were Hell to wear. They felt like a PVC pipe was around both legs with the foot portion not being much better. There was zero give to them and they rubbed blisters something terrible.
I've worn nothing but Rocky since then and haven't had any problems. Thought about trying Danner or one of the other brands. The only thing I really hate is trying to lace them things up in the morning. I have gotten the new zip side and it helps some but I seem to have to mess with the laces anyway.

Thanks for the help guys. For those of you that are wearing danner, would you recommend the leather version or the new Jackal ?

whichever is lighter...my proghorns tend to get heavy-ish, but i've never tried on a pair of jackals. as with any stitched leather boots, you will have to "dress" the pronghorns from time to time with silicone (or other spray type waterproofing), paying close attention to get the seams in areas that are constantly flexing. mine are 4 years old and are holding up well.

Waterproof is questionable on the danners but the comfort is not. I liked my snake boots so much I bought a pair of their little brothers. I work in them every day.

Being the pull ons are out. Being you can't buy them. What's the next best option?
I'm with the op. The lacrosse are killing me

I have two pair of the Danner, both lace-up. I really like them both. I work(at camp) and turkey hunt in one pair and bow hunt in the other. The first pair is the old model and I think they are the most comfortable. I agree with them not really being water-proof....more like water-resistant.

I got the zip up ones from BPS the redhead brand and they are just as comfortable as others (including Danners) that I've worn. Just starting their third year and they seem to still be waterproof also.
