If so, what holster are you using? I'm looking at the CrossBreed SuperTuck or QwikClip for small of the back carry.

I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry in the Crossbreed Supertuck and like it. I got the horsehide back and did not get the combat cut.

Any idea what the benefit of the combat cut is?

Less material for an easier draw on gun. Downside is less comfort. I have no trouble with draw. I wear mine at 5 o clock

DO NOT GET THE COMBAT CUT..It will rub you raw. Too much Gun on the skin. Personal experience talking here...

I carry a Sig P238 and Glock 19 in Crossbreed IWB with horsehide and non-combat cut. Pay the extra $10 for the horsehide. It doesn't sweat as much when it gets hot and is much more comfortable. Stay away from combat cut as the gun will rub you raw. Might be possible to mitigate if you wear an undershirt but that's going to be a pain come Summer.

Thanks fellas. That helps.
Another question...For small of the back carry would you consider a left handed holster to put your right hand in a more natural position when drawing? I like the idea, but it worries me a little that I might sweep my body with the muzzle. I can draw from that position without doing it, but I can't be positive that I will 100% of the time.

You mean if I were to fall on the gun? Worse than falling on it in other positions?

I say no. Only cause I carry my G27 in a CompTac MTac in the SOB some. I can draw it well from there.
I do have a Galco SOB holster for my 1911 that draws quite well from that position.

I've always carried mine at 4 or 5 clock. I've always heard the small of the back in a no no. Even though i've seen a bunch of people do it. Mine carries really good with a whitehatholster.com. They are great crossbreads...
That's also a full Size Smith and Wesson M&P 40. So that should give you some idea

If you are thrown onto your back in a scuffle (or wreck, or slip on ice, etc etc), you are at risk for a pretty bad spinal injury. No way in hell I would carry SOB every day but I've had enough issues with my back for three people so it's just something I won't risk.
