ASK DS: Blind Bags...

I'm looking for a new blind bag, and want to know what you guys are using and like. I hunt primarily in the timber, and currently use a shoulder or messenger type bag that I like, but it is on it's last leg and needs to be replaced. I don't carry much, and no more than one box of shells at a time. Not looking for the biggest, heaviest bag out there.

What say ye?

anything that's cheap will work.... unless you got a a couple hundred dollars in calls on your lanyard, and if there is anything else sentimental or important in your bag (bands, hand me downs, etc.) then you definitley do not want to go the cheap route...

I actually use a Hunter's Specialty soft sided camo cooler. Hey if it keeps water and ice in, shouldn't it keep water out?
It works pretty good and will float if its not too heavy or the weight is lopsided.

The small cabelas blind bag with the hard bottom hangs in a tree just fine! I find the bigger the bag, the more stuff you cram in it, so I have downsized.

Get a wading vest and loose the bag. One of the best purchases I ever made for hunting in the woods.

I get mine every year at the trademart. It's not cheap though. Costs me at least 200.00. has a nice Delta Waterfowl logo on it.

I have a Drake wma bag, it's cute. I use it in my pirogue a good bit.

Most of the time I can fit everything I need in my Filson.

I have a game vest which has shells calls laynard and ear plugs. I carry a Ditty bag from mcalisters which has head net, gloves?", jerk string, headlight and other stuff. Most importantly I carry a hook with a threaded end I can screw into a tree to hold this stuff.

Both made by mcalister.

I would be careful if screwing into trees on public land- I am sure you already know that, but just saying.

Screw all the trees you want in the privacy of your own property, but please do not screw trees in public.

I try to keep my public screwing down to a minimum. I also usually bring a vest when hunting in public. It cuts down on weight and crap I have to tote it.
