"There is no foul on the play for intentional grounding on the play because the receiver ran the wrong route..."

They were in our hip pocket all night. I would've like to have heard David yellum's call on that play.

the play wasn't all that pivotal for either team...but just the idea the ref said that...wow

We frequently get ref input on our offensive play calling. Doesn't Mississippi? Refs watch a lot of games and some are pretty knowledgable about offensive play calling.

I laughed when I heard the explanation, but I was very grateful.
Hopefully next time we get a holding penalty, they'll explain that the OLineman caught a cramp in his forearm and was unable to release the other players jersey.

I too thought it was funny, but if you think about it, it happens a lot. I have seen plenty quarterbacks drop back in the pocket and throw the ball to a spot, only to not have a receiver there. The difference this time is that the quarterback was under pressure.
