Anybody noticed it getting slower? I've had it about 3 years and now get from 1.5 to 56 kbps on uploads and 35-80 on downloads. I used to get about 100-120 when downloading. Of course I call them and they say my signal strength on their end is fine.

Reckon it's all those tall buildings around you blocking out your signal?

I never thought of that. You think its the feed mill in Isola or the grain elevator in Belzoni?

Ditch the hughes net and go with Verizon Mifi Hotspot.

I have/had Hughes Net. I am in the process of canceling my service, and yes it has gone from slow to I can’t take this anymore slow. I am not sure what I will get because DSL is not available where I live but there has got to be something better than Hughes Net.

Several folks in IT here at work have gone to a MiFi over Hughes Net as the speed was crippling their work.
But some can't, like my boss, who has tested the MiFi at his house and gets little to no reception with it either.

If you can't get DSl, this is what you need.

Will be ordering one for both of my camps very soon.
What is that thing?

I am guessing it is a signal booster/amplifier for your house. I would be very interested in knowing how well that thing works. I don’t get very good cell reception at home either, that's why I don’t think the Hot Spot would work for me right now.

We have one in a member's house at the camp. I have very little service with Verizon until I go into his house. He installed it after having the same issues with ATT. It'll boost me up to 2-3 bars plus 3G service. He paid retail for his last year. That's the best price I've found through searches. This model will give you a 15' area for signal boost. Most others require the phone to be within 5' or less.

A guy I hunt with in Kansas has some kind of booster at the cabin. Outside you have one bar of non 3G. Inside, full 3G signal. His antenna is up an old tv tower.

Ok, so how is a phone booster related to home computer, or is it?
