Texas Invasion has arrived in Oxford!
With a projected 100,000 plus expected just in the grove for Saturday 's game, the Texas tag Land Rover calvary are all over town as of Wednesday. It has been crazy around here with a nice chunk of my neighbors and friends renting their houses out for $$$$ of dollars and hauling tail. Also Rumored some restaurants are rented out for Friday night to the Texas mob exclusively. Texans are no stranger to this campus since they contribute a huge freshman class each year. Texans love to party and it obvious that don't mind sending their kids here either and quite frankly, the local merchants love their cash. The Buchanan's are rolling up our sleeves and will be in our usual "spot" in the Circle. Dang Grove gets me clostophobic (sp). We will have our four tents set up full of family and friends and will routinely invite the opposing team fans in for a tasty bite of something if they have a looker in the pack. I am a sucker for dark roots. maybe Po Monkey will stumble by and I can brag on him To my family about the "pass" he caught in HS. Oh I forgot to talk about the game....Us Bears have learned to detour any conversation about football at hand.... I bet we honor the team of the century or something another.. " please turn you attention to the center of the field to acknowledge the 1960 .........". That's when I get up to go by concessions to find someone to talk about bowhunting..........or my recent teal honey hole I found today"...........hotty toddy....go to he'll Texas

I'll try to find you in the Circle. Where is your spot located within the Circle? Tent colors? Sign? Would enjoy sharing a beverage or two and catching up.
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

Re: Texas Invasion has arrived in Oxford!
Even as a non-Ole Miss fan, I appreciate what is happening and will happen in Oxford right now. If you enjoy the finer aspects of Southern life in a small Southern town with major college football going on, you simply cannot beat Oxford on Saturdays in the fall.
I wish I could make it up for the game.
As an aside, I think Ole Miss gives Texas a run for their money this weekend on the field, and teaches them proper tailgating form off of the field.

It will be sold out by end of day tomorrow. Extra bleacher seating being brought into the Vault.
Getting hard to focus on work. Haven't been this excited about a game since 2003 game v LSU. It is going to be a great game day atmosphere and absolutely electric by kickoff.
Hope we continue to play at least one non-conference game like this every season. It's a recruiting bonanza and better exposure for our football program than any low level bowl game. The number of big time recruits that will be on campus for official and nonofficial visits is unlike anything I have ever seen before at Ole Miss.
Hope the Rebs are ready to play well and make a good showing. There will be a LOT of folks watching this football game.

I couple of kids on scooters almost took me out in the circle last weekend. Glad to see kids having fun like that, like kids should, being active and not clinging onto a phone or a playing a DS
