Ran into a kid in GA doing an outdoor show last spring probably had the best topwater product i've ever herd of.

He had used some kind of product you set on fire and left it in your duck hole. Was supposed to attrack ducks with it's scent!

I about fell out of the chair laughing at this poor kid.

You might be a topwater if...

You show up at a public land landing when the water is shin deep see nothing but mud motors and still unload your short transom boat with a long transom motor!

You bring a fan boat to duck hunt in!

You blow your duck calls non stop the whole time ducks are working and then flair them by blowing as loud as you can as soon as they are coming into the decoys. (Saw this one last year)

Your the first group at the boat ramp but let others in front of you becuase your not sure you can make it to the hole.

You have bands you recieved at HRC events or other events on your lanyard to look cool!

You internet scout and don't understand why no one will help you.

You can't blow a duck call so you have to wait when your buddies that can will go with you. (Bad thing is your buddies that can don't wanna go with ya.)

You bring in your brand new shotgun in a box and need someone to put it together for you.

You ask for help loading your gun the next morning.

You bring a $3000 trap shooting gun to the duck hole.

You bring a dog on a guided hunt that has never hunted before. The guide picks up all the ducks and you have the nerve to ask to bring the dog back the next day.

You offer your guide several thousand dollars for his dog.

You only hunt with outfitters and consider yourself to be a good duck hunter.

Hmm...guess I better get rid of that "fan boat" huh so im not a dreaded topwater even though I only use it to hunt my private land...

Oh wait, I have killed several limits of ducks out of the AIR BOAT, it's not a fan boat either that just irks the chit outta me. Not really suited for "around here" but it can and has been done. Much more at home on the coast/marsh. Not real sure how many folks have airboats just laying around though and I have been hunting a long time and never seen anyone show up in one to duck hunt.

Calling a woodie a green head and had the limit of them greenheads to.

I saw this at a draw hunt. And he proundly marched that limit of greenheads right up to the check out station and I thank ole green pants wear man gave him a reward for his accomplishment as well with a bird identification book.

hmm.. cool deal, I AM A TOPWATER!! I cannot blow a duck call worth shat, but i will and have worked my butt off while hunting. I will carry decoys, throw 'em out and pick 'em up, walk 2 miles to get to a spot that nobody else will bother to hunt on public land, help out my good friends when they can't hunt the private land they've hunted all their life, hunted with a mojo (not this year), and been part of an eight man limit on public land.

Yep, I'm a topwater, but oh well, i'm still gonna hunt, still gonna scout public land and hunt it, still gonna work my butt off learning how to work this game. The ones who know it all and everything a/b duck hunting, i truly feel sorry for you! The day we stop learning we might as well die! I may be a topwater, but i am a hunter and a sportsman, no matter what i'm hunting. I won't set up on top of anybody, or anything else that's stupid. Just can't blow a call. Guess i outa give up the sport! nah....

In my blind if you dont wear a facemask or paint you will be asked to leave. If you dont do that where you hunt you got more ducks and a better place than me. Cant afford to flare any as little as I get to go.
