I have refrained from saying anything until now...I am of the school of thought of "let people do what they want, they'll either get sick of not have a productive day in the field, or learn" but this one "hand" over on the state site has the king ding a ling of topwaterness in his signature line......this cat daddy has a picture of what is probably his most legit duck hunt in his life with a quote of "have you hunted "certain state wma" lately? What a canoe :? Seriously...congrats on the hunt, but did you really have to so that?

1. You might be one if you are from Alabama!!!

2. And my favorite that happened this year: You might be one if on opening day you try to follow someone into a spot because you have not scouted any.

Long story short.... We stopped 6 times and they would not pass us, finally stopped and asked them if we were in their way, that they could go ahead. They did not say much and stayed behind. Finally we acted dumb to them in conversation about where we were going, turned around a couple of times and finally shook them loose.

He did not kill those ducks there on that day. I wasn't but about 20 miles from there and the sun never came out any that day, his picture shows sun. I don't know his reasoning for the post though.

OK, now I meet 4 requirements. Rocky, if people keep adding to the list, I'll have to turn myself in the next time I'm over your way. My wife claims I'm not worth 2 cents during duck season much less $10,000.00 so I'll settle for that cup of coffee.
DuckBoat, where you be from? It ain't listed in your location. Don't be ashamed, represent my brotha.

Damn, I'm a topwater! It could be worse I guess. I could be one of those lifelong, know-it-all, born with a call in my mouth, rootin tootin duck killin machines you always read about on the internet.

 Dang, I've been labeled a TW! I was guilty of this opening morning. Fog was so thick spot light or not,
I couldn't see chit! Not even the front of my boat. Head lights on my boat nor the spot light helped, but it didn't
help when I had them off either. But I am about blind as it is so that probably factors into my Topwaterness as well. :(

I rarely hunt out of a boat though so you gotta cut a hill hunter some slack. :P Don't need a spot light when you are
on a 4 wheeler and wading in. That's 99.9% of my hunts.

By the way what the He!! is up with all these dam topwater posts on here lately?

Gotta say that before DuckSouth I had never heard of the topwater term, but this stuff is hilarious. I gotta put my two cents in.

You might be a topwater if...

You try to talk your buddies into letting you drag your girlfriend along on every hunt.

The back glass of your truck is tinted in Advantage Wetlands Camo, and/or, your quarter panel on your truck is Camo.

You've done all the research, and you are convinced that Bismuth patterns extremely well in your 3000 dollar shotgun, and "you would never shoot that Winchester Super-X bullcrap steel if someone paid you."

You insisted on buying that 4 wheel drive pickup for all the hardcore outdoors activities you claim to be involved in, but have to get your buddy to get the transfer case out of 4-LO for you.

Hope you all enjoy.

Wearing face paint when ya hunt, ok, I can see it... but why in the hell do you wear it into the resturaunt at lunch with your call laynard on? 21 degrees thursday and when we went into get a burger, there was a table FULL of face paint, I thought it was an old time vaudville show figgin to break out. No way anyone was out that day and too hot to wear a facemask... not sure how you even get makeup to be soft nuff to put on at 21 degrees, maybe ya dress up at home!

2 products you can't make an excuse for... the neck cracker they sell to dispatch cripples, and the stuff that makes your duck hole smell good to ducks. either ought to get you on a topwater mailing list for life! travis

nope... i think they called it the 'dispatcher'. it was actually so you could crack a ducks neck in case your $3 a bullet heavy shot didnt finish em off. Can't remember the stuff that smelled good to ducks, but it was in a couple magazines front cover ads... and there was a thread on here at one time that asked if ducks could smell. I even replied, sure after 2 or 3 days they often smell. bwhahahahaha. travis

Ok everyone, I was in Mack's Prairie Wings in Stuttgart, Arkansas today... And there it was... Duck and Goose scent attractant. I had to throw myself on the floor to keep from buying it. I laughed to myself and thought about this topwater post as I watched some "topwaters" check out the label and speculate as to how many birds the duck cocaine was going to pull in on tomorrows hunt.

Thought you would all like to hear this.
