But what was the reason to pick up a paddle and blind side someone?timberjack wrote:Sounds like the guy got what he deserved. If ya'll can honestly sit there and say that you would let a guy come in there, get in your face and call you a MF'er and you wouldn't retaliate then you've obviously never been in that situation. You do things under stress when you feel threatened that maybe you wouldn't normally do. I imagine that everybody involved wishes now that they'd handled it differently but I can guarantee you this much, that crew won't be back. Sounds like somebody called the bully's bluff.

Re: Be respectful on Public Land
I have kept quiet about this but I know where Trip and his crew are coming from. Being an Albanian that hunts in a foreign state, I know what it's like to get harassed just because you're from somewhere else. You can do your homework, get up early, and go to your hunting spot only to get harassed and cussed by a local just because they think they own the spot you found too. There's only so much of this a person will listen too until they've had enough and have to teach someone some manners. The guys that got there last should have moved on when they saw someone there instead of causing the altercation. If they had moved on, none of this would have happened. I'll bet Mr. Mouth thinks twice about rolling up on someone with his attitude again and hopefully this will prevent someone else from being harassed. When word gets out to his buddies, maybe they will think twice too.

Re: Be respectful on Public Land
Just trying to get this cleared up......Some of you guys are saying:
It is ok to hit someone in the head with a paddle hard enough to cause bleeding and possibly stitches because you were called a name?
Am I missing something?

Not exactly, but that's one way to look at it. The way I have taken what most people are saying is, "Don't go into a duck hole calling people MFers unless you want a boat paddle upside your head."woody wrote:Just trying to get this cleared up......Some of you guys are saying:

Personally, I think that's good advice and there is a difference between the two messages.
