Next up.....gotta get the cad information for chopper.........Entergy has to come move a powerline pole, and then we start he tree removal process.........oh, and waiting on my information from the conservation office. Hopefully we can get something started next week??

Chop, you still plan on coming by after work? What kinda beer do you prefer sir? Everybody else, bring your own DAMN BEER...

Seriously, we have having a brain storming session this evening after work, if anyone wants to drop by and give some input. Bring your dog, bring your beer, and we will pull the trucks down in the shade, and combine our brain cells for maximum output!!

The one suggestion I would make would be a couple of mounds in strategic locations. Without elevation you won't see the dog on reentries. You probably already have plans for some but it never hurts to restate the obvious.

Actually, I hadn't thought of that. I'll keep that in mind.

Adding thoughts......

I would put an island in and a way to get to it with a person or 4 wheeler by way of a submerged road. You can drop the water levels for a difference and when submerged it'll give dogs a section of running water to negotiate in the middle of a swim. And, you are allowed a way to maintain the island.

Good luck!

or you, a john boat, and a weedwacker can periodically get at it. I like the island, but Im not having to keep it maintained.

The mounds are VERY IMPORTANT! 2-3 mounds around your pond can make it into a great training pond. As stated before, do not make your pond to busy. When the pond becomes to busy, it very hard on young dogs. Also very hard to teach concepts because the pond becomes a "Cheat" factor to fight instead of teaching concepts.

It's growing on me. It will be cheaper to build. It's a tough balance. Not to much to confuse the young dogs, but challenging enough for older dogs. At the same time, I'm trying to keep the fish in mind. The top right hand corner is the old catfish pond. I'm thinking of making that the swim by pond, and leaving most of the existing levy in place, just removing out enough to let the water flow thru.

gator........come take a look. I would appreciate your feedback after looking at the site. Doc Booker gave me some good tips (he's a smart dude), and though you look stupid, I'm sure you can help. :D
