All right, I have been reading this post and trying to make sense of everything. So what I am hearing is that 3 1/2" 1 3/8oz #2's are no better than 3" 1 1/8oz #2's both at 1550fps. I use 3 1/2" shells but not to skybust or anything like that. I just thought the extra 1/4 ounces of shot would make my pattern more dense and thus improving my pattern to kill more efficiently. This is all very interesting to me. Keep the info coming.

Go measure you a 2 x 4 and check those measurements, too!

Anybody have any data on the differnce in shot string between a 12 and a 10 with the same loads?

Not hard numbers, but the shot string on the 10 guage will be shorter due to the larger bore (except on the Mossy 12 guages that already have a 10 guage bore).

sorry, didn't have measure a 3.5" shell, or a 2x4 to know they aren't what most folks think they are :wink:

anybody seen this study yet? I sent an e-mail to briley yesterday, no reply as of yet....
