I stocked up when we got some calls made for wholesale price, but I've ended up selling all of them except 2 or 3.

Wandy........keep it simple.....get a Haydel DR-85. Once you master it, move on......it's quite simple to blow.

There is no "mastering" a dr-85. Anybody can blow a dr-85. When you start out with double reed setups, you will tend to stick with them and buck the switch over to single reeds. I did it for over 8 yrs, so I know I'm going with this. I've heard 5 yr olds that can do a good quack on a dr-85.

actually GH22 my girls are almost three and can get a pretty fair quack on a DR-85...they've both got one....
but, you can call a lot of ducks with that thing...it just depends on what your goals are...what you want to do with a duck call....

Best advise I can give you on calling. Set out a nice spread of decoys, give your best group of calls and watch the ducks respond to your calls. It's like Jimmy Riddell used to say when they came by to blow his calls, "Ducks make all kinds of sounds". "Set up in a feeding or resting area and you will kill ducks."

I hate seenin people blast away at ducks comin at em close. I like to call em on the corners when there goin away about to make a turn then hit em with a little feed call when they're hoverin over the top. I think if ducks want to set down bad enough on a hole alot of callin isn't needed.

GREENHEAD WROTE THAT HE HAS HEARD A 5 YR OLD DO A GOOD QUACK ON A CALL, IN MY OPINION A GOOD SOUNDING CALL IS A GOOD SOUNDING CALL, DR OR SR. IF YOU MAKE IT SOUND GOOD, ISN'T THAT ALL THAT MATTERS?
