Offer advice on the flip side of the 'norm' and then called judgmental and hypocritical. Hmmmm, guilty conscience maybe? If you consider an elementary school a daycare that is your choice, but each person on this post knows there is a tremendous difference in a 6 yr old and a 6 week old. If you don't believe there is a diff, there is very little else we can discuss..........

Just wow.
Skywalker, I always say to each his own. I don't agree with you at all but what y'all have decided is fine. You are attacking the way most on this board were raised and the way some have decided to raise their children. I don't see anything anymore wrong than the other. It is a case by case basis. In you case/child/mom maybe it is best that they have that one on one attention. In my case and others maybe it is not. You are the only one that have tried to belittle the group as to the way they have decided to raise their children. I could care less what anyone thinks about how I raise my child and as long as other children are not endanger I could care less how they raise theirs.

Not sure how praying for wisdom for those making life changing decisions is belittling anyone, as I said earlier it's all about choice. My choice and your choice. If it is taken as demeaning it's not meant that way, just straightforward. I showed this to my wife who just smiled and said, 'you are not going to win that argument, our generation had too much given to us as children and very few people will give that up as adults, it was a difficult choice for me to make but I'm so glad I did.' Btw....I am 35 and she is 38.

To each his own. I wish we could all meet on a duck hunt in 20 years and have this discussion again. It would be very interesting I'm sure, for both sides.

Not really sure why i even just read this whole thread since i dont have a child haha, but i do believe your pointing at everyone else saying they are looking for excuses and justifications for their actions may be quite the opposite. When you just said you had your wife read it, I believe YOU are the one looking for excuses and justification or someone to be on your side and chastise how everyone else is screwing up to make yourselves feel better about your decisions.

Man I wouldn't have posted on this thread earlier if I would have known all this thread would end up being about was how petty and judgmental folks can be. Bunch of bitchy women. When does duck season start?

Thanks for the advice. I will sell my house, both cars, and all other possessions. Next I will move into section 8 housing, apply for an EBT card and "affordable" health care all so I can spend a few extra hours a day with my children. Boy that'll surely teach them some life lessons. Sounds like the way 80-90% of America's prison population were raised as children.

To the original poster, daycare cost sucks but it's not one of the things you want to skimp on, there are church programs that usually cost less but do not operate on the same hours.

Who said anything about selling cars and houses? Just shows how attached people are to their possessions. Put it this way, the first day of daycare, don't send your wife to do the deed, i challenge you to go with her. It's a very emotional day for women, don't put up to that alone.

Been a great debate fellas, still trying to figure out how bringing up children in a traditional household need to be justified or how having approval of others for this will make me 'feel' better about my decision.......still actually blown away by the response on this....please remember this conversation next time you want to post about how we need to return this country back to its roots and how it was built......

Have a great nite fellas.
